Verna Felton wrote the book on quitting. Literally. The former ‘Apprentice’ star went down in television history as the first contestant to pass on the chance to be Donald Trump’s next protégé. “After I quit The Apprentice,” said Felton, “I received thousands of responses from individuals who were interested in my story.”

Emboldened by the surge of viewer-interest, Felton seized the opportunity to share her experience with the world and penned her first book. With I Quit!, Felton challenges the belief that ‘quitters never win’. “I think it is important that people stop letting others define their lives,” the author said. “I hope my book offers individuals the opportunity to do this.”

Thanks to all of the people who have purchased a copy of the book and sent feedback to me. I am so glad that it has been a help in the various stages of your life and career. In life, making decisions that will ultimately impact you for a long time to come, can be a very daunting task. It has been my pleasure to share my experiences with you and I hope the tools and tips that I've provided in the book give you the life's lessons you need to feel empowered. There have been a million questions concerning my appearance on the show and questions surrounding what motivated me to write the book. What it boils down to is having the strength and courage to stand up for yourself whether others agree or even understand your decision.

The book Foreword is written by the renowned

Justice James E. Graves Jr., Supreme Court Justice

for the state of Mississippi. He has been an inspiration

to youth, collegiate students and professionals

everywhere. Justice Graves served as Circuit Court Judge

in the state of Mississippi for over ten years before being appointed by the Governor and beginning his term

as Judge on the Mississippi Supreme Court in 2001.

On a personal note, I recently attended a conference where my book was showcased. During the signing, a lady approached the table and casually picked up a copy of the book. As our eyes met, she began to cry. I could see the tears rolling down her face, and she looked at me and said two simple words, "Thank you." She repeated the words several times.

She explained that she was at a very difficult time in her life. Just looking at the words in big, red, bold letters ... "I Quit!" gave her encouragement. She gave me a hug and purchased a copy of the book. Yes, there are plenty of naysayers out there. Many people have questioned and frowned upon my decision to quit. But, seeing the smile through the tears of that women's eyes, gave me the answer and ongoing encouragement. It further supported my belief that I know I did the right thing by writing this book. I hope you find your own piece of empowerment through the book as well.
